Demano was set up in Barcelona in 1999, by Eleonora Parachini, Marcela Manrique and Liliana Andrade with the idea of using discarded PVC advertising material from banners promoting exhibitions, festivals and cultural events in Barcelona. In this way it has been possible to give new life to this very durable material, which is perfect for the production of these unique, fun and colourful bags and accessories.
In 2005, Demano signed an agreement with the City Council, the Cultural Institute of Barcelona (ICUB), and other cultural organizations including the Antonio Tapies Foundation, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA), and the Centre for Contemporary Culture (CCCB) to have exclusive use of their advertising banners.
The reuse of materials as the basis for the production of their bags and accessories is at the heart of Demano's policy, together with care and respect for the a project based on the combination of environmental awareness and
product handcraft using material and processes friendly to environment.
In the 2010, the Female Entrepreneur of the year for ECOLOGY goes to the founders of the brand DEMANO.
