DESCRIPTION
This is a fashionable and practical bag made with old magazines. With 2 pocket inside and one zipper pocket. Closure: Magnet Snap. Bags are made in Medan, Indonesia by a women’s cooperative. By employing local women and those who have travelled inland from Tsunami affected regions. The images (for this bag are from 60s Italian newspapers) are inserted between two layers of non toxic plastic that can be recycled as well, quilted as if the paper would be the stuffing. All "one of a kind". In fact two of the same do not exist and never will. Please note: Picture are only as reference for model and style. We will not send the identical bag as the one in the picture.
DETAIL
Creating a line of accessories using recycled material eather natural or organic; this is CeeBee's philosophy. Her attitude has always been careful to respect the environment (typical of the Scandinavian culture) and to observe the evolution of eco and social oriented lifestyles. A fashion product can produce a low environmental impact, be original and of good quality, and support families in low-income areas by creating labor. A complete circle is defined, at every step someone smiles: the wastes are recycled, the workers earn a salary, the use of natural and organic material does not cause any harm, the final customer has a unique piece, and CeeBee sees her project take shape, with great pleasure
Carmen Björnald is born in Germany from a Liberian father and a German mother; she then spends her early years in Goteborg, Sweden, where she achieves a degree in Design and Fabric Research. She arrives in Italy in the early '80s and soon gets a job as a model working on the catwalks for some of the most prestigious Designers, such as Giorgio Armani, Gianfranco Ferrè, Versace, Moschino, Fendi and many others. In the early '90s, she decides to dedicate her time on her family and children. After two years, she goes back to school to attend a course on jewellery mastered by Davide de Paoli, a contemporary sculptor who loves to mix precious metals with minor materials. From this new experience. In 2006, while travelling in a distant country which she deeply loves, she becomes aware of a global problem: waste disposal. On this occasion, she develops the idea of designing a line of accessories, using different waste materials, this is CeeBee's philosophy.
A fashion product can be original and of good quality, support families in low-income areas by creating work and have a low impact on the environment.
To create Ceebee's original pieces Fashion magazines are collected and selected in the outskirts of Medan, Indonesia by a women's cooperative employing both local women and those who have travelled inland from Tsunami affected regions. The images are inserted between two layers of non toxic plastic (also recyclable),creating a quilted effect.
All of the pieces are "one of a kind" - two the same do not exist and never will.
